FAQ

When does the rental week run from?  The week runs form Saturday to Saturday.  There is a one week minimum stay.

What time is Check-in?  Check in is at 2pm on Saturday.

What time is Check-Out?  Check out is at 10am on Saturday.

How do I check in / Check out? There is a lock box on the property, A code will be given a few weeks prior to your arrival.  There will be a set of keys in the box as well as another set in the home, for use during your stay.

What are the Check-Out duties?   Upon check-out, turn off all lights and appliances, clean out all your belongings from the fridge, remove all trash, close and lock all windows.  Make all beds.  Clean, fold and replace any linens that may have been used.  Do not leave any wet close in the washing machine.  Leave all beach chairs, coolers, toys in garage where they were found.  Leave home in clean, broom swept condition as it was found.  Lock all doors and place keys back where originally found.  Any failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

When is payment due? 1/2 deposit is due on booking of rental.   The remaining balance, including security deposit is due 60 days prior to arrival and the.  Aside from the security deposit, there will be no refunds issued.  We recommend taking out travelers insurance in the chance that you have to cancel your stay.

Are Pets allowed?  No pets are allowed.  Special considerations are given to those with service animals.  Please fill out our Pet Addendum here.

Is Smoking allowed?  Smoking is NOT allowed in any part of the home including the porch.  If you must smoke on the property, dispose of your cigarettes butts responsibility.  Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

Do you have cleaning guidelines?

We clean the cottage prior to your arrival and make every effort to ensure you have a great vacation.  We have provided general cleaning products under the sink and a broom and dustpan in the basement staircase.  Also, trash should be left out for pick up on Thursday morning.  A cleaning fee will be assessed if the home is not left in the condition in which is was when you arrived for your stay.

Is there laundry available?  We have a washer and dryer available for use.  Detergent is not provided.

Is parking available?  We have a large driveway and garage for 2-3 cars. There are 2 first come, first serve spots directly in front of the house and 3-4 first come first serve spaces, which are usually available, across the street in front of an empty lot. Cars parked on the street are subject to all Old Orchard Beach laws and regulations.

Are there any fees associated with the rentals?

There is a Maine State Lodging Tax of 8% additional to the rental fee and there is a $500 refundable deposit.

What’s included with the vacation home?

Our home has a 50 inch tv, dvd player, cable tv, wireless Internet, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee maker, grill, pillow, blankets and matress pads.  Linens are not provided but are available for an additional fee.  We also have lots of beach toys including skim and boogie boards, beach buggies and plenty of beach chairs.

Do you have a grill available for use? 
A 5 burner propane gas grill is also available.  Please turn off gas and replace grill cover after each use.  We are not responsible to ensure there is propane in the tank.    Empty propane tanks can be swapped out down the street at Rite Aid.

What is the noise policy?

We are located off the main strip in a quiet neighborhood.  Guests must understand and abide by the limitation on occupancy and respect the property boundaries and privacy of neighbors.  If these limitations are not met, guests will be asked to leave without a refund.  Noise complaints will be dealt with on an individual basis.  Also, Old Orchard Beach has strict late night noise ordinances that are enforced.

How close is the house to the beach? The house is 1.5 blocks from the beach. It’s a short 5 minute walk. We have beach buggy’s and totes for use to transport your beach gear. We love the location as it is not as loud as the main strip but still really close to the beach, pier, mini golf and the best OOB has to offer.

How far is the house from the attractions?  The house is 1.5 block from the beach, 1.5 blocks from the Brunswick Beach Patio and Bar, 1 block from mini-golf, 3 blocks to the pier and the Amusement park.

Are linens available?  Linens and towels are available for an additional fee.

What should we bring?  We provide pillows and comforters but guests should bring their own towels(beach and bath) and linens (unless the extra fee is paid).  We have lots of chairs, some beach toys and games but we suggest you bring your own as well.  Guests are responsible for their own paper products, toiletries, detergent, meals, propane, sunscreen, coolers, etc.

How does the Trash work?  Guests are responsible for their own trash bags.  All trash should be stored in the designated containers in the garage and the garage door should remain closed at all times.  Trash & Recycling containers MUST BE PUT OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE THE PICK UP DAY.  The pick up day is THURSDAY.  Only two (2) trash cans are allowed for pick up each week.  These cans cannot be over flowing or weigh more than 60 pounds.  Failure to put trash out to be picked up or fees incurred from the town for putting out to much trash will be deducted from the security deposit.

Is the place available for winter rental?  Yes we will consider rentals starting 9/1, 9/15 or 10/1 to May 15th.
